Not your average reading
personal, meaningful, ‘not a reading’ readings.
OK, so totally not a necessary element that we need to include in your ceremony, however, if you’re looking for a way to include a special friend or family member, this could be just the way to do it.
I’m not a fan of your standard readings. Passages about the sanctity of marriage or the meaning of love. Instead, I’m a lover of the movie quotes, the poem written by grandparents, and the readings that were read at your parents wedding.
Here are a few ideas we have included in past weddings. All were incredibly personal and incredibly well received. Use these to jog your mind about something we could possibly include, but again, not a necessity when it comes to your ceremony.
If reading these examples gives you an idea, just flick me an email and we can chat more about it.

At her 21st birthday party, Shannen’s pop read out a poem he had written for her about the values that their family hold close. To close our ceremony, pop stood up and read the same poem, wishing the happy couple a long future, and asking them to take those values into their marriage.

At the grooms parents wedding, a family member wrote a poem about the start of their new marriage, which made many parallels between the land they lived on, and their new marriage. At their sons wedding, the grooms sister read this poem.
